Dogs love campervan adventures too!
Summer holidays are here. At Snowdonia Classic Campers, we know just how important your four-legged friend is, and how much better it is when you can bring him, or her along on your adventure! Our dogs, Archie and Tess, just love life in the campervan and they’re an important part of many of our adventures in and around North Wales.
Holidays without your furry friend can often leave everyone feeling a bit guilty. Bringing your dog on a campervan adventure means you avoid the stress and (sometimes significant) cost of leaving them behind in a kennel. All our campers are dog-friendly so the whole family can explore the mountains and coast of Snowdonia together.
Dog Travel Tips
There are a few things to keep in mind when traveling with dogs. Dogs Trust, the largest dog charity in the UK, has put together a quick list of dog travel tips which might come in handy for you! We’ve picked out a few below;
- Make sure that your dog is safely restrained with a car harness or a travel crate.
- Never leave a dog alone in your camper, especially on a warm or hot day.
- Don’t feed your dog just before traveling, as this will help reduce the likelihood of him suffering from car sickness.
- Make sure you keep your dog as cool as possible when driving: avoid traveling during the heat of the day, use sun blinds on the windows and consider opening a window a little to allow a cooling breeze to circulate in the vehicle

Most campsites are dog-friendly and there are acres of mountains, moorland and coastal paths to explore. Check our the map for dog friendly place, including campsites, beaches, cafes and pubs. This list will grow as Archie and Tess discover more… And don’t forget to check out our Local Walks page, where there is a growing list of walks that our dogs, Tess and Archie have tried and loved!

Please note, there is a one of charge £25 per hire to bring your dog, this is to cover the additional cleaning from pet hairs and paw prints. This small charge covers all your dogs although we do not recommend you bring any more than 2 medium sized breeds or 1 large as you simply won’t all fit in the camper!
If you do bring your dog then please respect the camper and bring throws and/or a dog bed to prevent damage to the seats and fittings. Any damage will be deducted from your security deposit.
